New Fee Ordinance for the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) and the Battery Act (BattG)
On 11 August 2025, the tenth ordinance amending the Fee Ordinance under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act and the Battery Act (ElektroGBattGGebV) was published in the Federal Law Gazette. The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) was the lead authority for this amendment. The regulation will come into force on 18 August 2025.
The amendment comprehensively revises the fee rates for administrative procedures under the ElektroG and BattG. The objective is to align them with European requirements and to reflect current administrative costs.
Summary of the most significant changes:
Reduction of the quarterly fee for ElektroG registration account holders from €43.90 to €32.80
Reduction of the guarantee inspection fee from €12.30 to €3.80
Introduction of a quarterly fee of €3.80 for BattG registration account holders
Reduction of the registration fee per battery category and brand from €41.40 to €16.40
